Special edition
NN North Sea Jazz

What an amazing festival that was! Great artists, delicious food and a brilliant atmosphere. It was a fantastic way to celebrate NN Group’s fifth anniversary as a standalone listed company with so many colleagues at this very special edition of the NN North Sea Jazz Festival.

As partner of NN North Sea Jazz, we were given the unique opportunity to organise a special edition of the festival, for and by NN colleagues, on Thursday, 11 July 2019, at Rotterdam Ahoy. And it was truly special…

Fantastic line-up
Fourteen national and international acts performed on five different stages. Big names such as Jett Rebel, The Ladies of Soul, and The Earth Wind & Fire Experience Feat Al McKay

had the audience singing, dancing and swinging in

the ‘de Maas’, the venue’s largest hall. Artists such

as Macy Gray, Jungle by Night, Wouter Hamel,
Avery*Sunshine and the Dutch Youth Jazz

Orchestra performed on other stages. But NN North

Sea Jazz is about much more than just jazz. Fans of soul, funk, hip hop, blues and international music enjoyed listening to established names and new discoveries. The fact that our own NN colleagues presented the acts made the day extra special. Our colleagues did an amazing job as presenters: with much enthusiasm overcoming some nerves.

Colleagues from all over the country

Colleagues travelled to Rotterdam Ahoy from all over the country for the special edition of NN North Sea Jazz. In total, 25 buses left for Rotterdam from Alkmaar, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Den Bosch, Capelle aan de IJssel, Ede, Heerlen, Helmond, Nieuwegein and Zwolle. The colleagues who acted as party bus leaders along with their FM colleagues made sure that everything went smoothly as the buses left. They arranged entertainment during the bus journey with a celebratory playlist or even a pub quiz on the journey. Colleagues also travelled to Ahoy Rotterdam by car, bike or public transport.

Special festivals from the past

This special edition of the NN North Sea Jazz adds a new chapter to the historic collection of special, major celebrations for colleagues. You can look back on the festival on 11 July in this magazine, and at the same time find out how colleagues celebrated special occasions in the past.
